APOPHENIA
Apophenia inaugurates the series with an index of objects—an unstable taxonomy drawn from the artist’s studio and those of others. At once archival and speculative, it reflects a persistent inclination to gather: to hold fragments whose significance lingers just beyond articulation.
Emerging from a practice of free association, the work brings into relation visual data, dream states, natural formations, and cultural memory. Through layering and recomposition, images are displaced from fixed meanings and set into motion, forming provisional alignments. They appear as temporal traces—indices of memory, duration, and situated experience.
The index unfolds as an open constellation rather than a closed system. Shaped by lived environments and chosen remnants, it invites a reading based on resonance and adjacency, where meaning remains fluid, continually forming and reforming.
